Manager of Content Operations Expand

Seeking a Manager of Content Operations who is ready to uplevel our ability to balance our writer community with our client needs. 

We’re brewing something exciting here at Verblio, a content creation platform powered by a one-of-a-kind network of over 1,000 professional writers that empowers growing businesses to create quality content, at scale, in every niche. 

Great content fuels customer acquisition and retention for the fastest-growing businesses today. That content takes time, resources, and talent. Without it, many companies simply can’t compete. That’s where we come in. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, creative Manager of Content Operations to help us wow customers with content that meets their goals.

What you’ll do at Verblio

Reporting to our VP of Content Operations, you’ll play an integral role in keeping the two sides of our platform running smoothly to ensure our writer community meets our customers’ demands, quality expectations, and expertise needs. You will be instrumental in making sure that customer requests for content make their way through all necessary steps and that content is delivered back to customers on time and at a quality level they expect.  

You will be responsible for:

  • Curating pools of writers who have specialized experience or skills so that client content is as spot-on as possible from the start
  • Intervening in content requests that are at risk of not being delivered on time, either by checking in with the writer or potentially reassigning work within our marketplace
  • Monitoring writer activity and metrics to ensure content quality as we scale production for customers
  • Facilitating quality calibration processes to ensure that we understand what “good” looks like to a customer, and so that our writers can consistently produce content meeting those requirements
  • Maintaining an awareness and presence in our writer community forum
  • Continually reassessing and improving the processes used to screen and onboard new writers 
  • Providing support to writers and customers who reach out through our help desk
  • Engaging with at-risk customers to solve any issues inhibiting their usage and growth
  • Participating in monthly forecasting processes to ensure we have an accurate estimate of anticipated financial and operational performance
  • Working with internal and external collaborators to process requests that, for one reason or another, can’t be handled automatically or via our self-service customer interfaces

A little bit about you

  • 2+ years of operations experience.
  • A healthy appetite for experimentation and constant iteration.
  • Strong comfort working with large amounts of sometimes-messy data.  If taking a big spreadsheet of payments, comparing it with a set of invoices, and having to figure out which invoice is missing sounds interesting to you, you’ll be right at home in this role.
  • Direct experience or at least an interest in content marketing/SEO/inbound marketing preferred.
  • Major bonus points for experience managing a two-sided platform. 
  • Zeal for working with a kick-ass team hell-bent on having a great time, enjoying the quirkiness of our users, and overdelivering (because it’s the right thing to do).

This is a fully remote opportunity. Salary range: $65K-$75K
